Athlete Engine ("Athlete Engine," "we," "us," or "our") provides a pitcher development and arm-care platform for baseball programs and athletes, available as a mobile app and website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Athlete Engine, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, password, role (player, coach, trainer, strength coach), and program or organization.
- Training and wellness data — daily wellness check-ins (sleep, energy, soreness, and related inputs), throwing and lifting logs, arm feel, recovery routines, and throwing schedules.
- Performance data — pitch charting entries and any Rapsodo or Trackman files you choose to upload.
- Photos and video — bullpen, mechanics, and training clips you record or upload, and photos of lifting sheets you scan.
- Communications — messages you send us, including demo requests submitted on our website.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and product-analytics data — screens viewed, features used, and events within the app, used to understand and improve the product.
- Device and log data — device type, operating system, app version, and diagnostic information.
How we use your information
- Provide and operate the app, including readiness scores, dashboards, heat maps, and trends.
- Let coaches and program staff view and manage the athletes in their program.
- Parse uploaded files, photos, and schedules into structured data (see "Service providers" below).
- Improve, troubleshoot, and secure the product.
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Within your program — if you join a program, coaches and authorized staff in that program can view your training, wellness, and performance data and any video associated with you. This is core to how the platform works.
- Service providers — we use trusted vendors to run the service:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, hosting) — stores your account and app data.
- Anthropic — processes uploaded files, photos, and schedules to extract structured stats; used only to fulfill the parsing request.
- PostHog — product-analytics on how the app is used.
- Legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure. We use industry-standard safeguards, including access controls that restrict data to you and the authorized staff of your program. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings, which removes your profile. Some records may persist in backups for a limited period or where retention is required by law.
Your choices and rights
- Access and update — view and edit your profile and logged data in the app.
- Delete — delete your account from Settings, or contact us to request deletion.
- Permissions — you control camera, microphone, photo, and notification access through your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion, or portability). Contact us to exercise them.
Children's privacy
Athlete Engine is used by high-school and college programs and may be used by athletes under 18 as part of their program. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 18, you should use Athlete Engine only with the involvement and consent of a parent, guardian, or your program. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
